LIBBY was born  in Hobbs, New Mexico, the youngest of four children. She grew up on a small ranch south of Hobbs where her parents still reside. Libby graduated from Harding University in 1980 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.  She moved to Lubbock in January of 1981 and was active in Campus Advance at Broadway before meeting Steve in the singles class at Sunset. They married in August of 1982 and have two daughters, Gerianne and Gina. Steve is an Associate Professor in the Business Department at LCU.

After working as a critical-care nurse for  almost 15 years, Libby decided to make a career change and joined the staff at Sunset in 1995. She loves teaching Bible class and organizing big events like VBS and Trunk or Treat. Libby serves on the board for Pine Springs Camp and loves working with kids at camp each summer. Her hobbies include quilting, reading and playing racquetball.
